The Turlock Mosquito Abatement District is a special district established in 1946 to protect public health by reducing the risk of disease transmission and nuisances caused by mosquitoes to the residents in the southern portion of Stanislaus County. The District is governed by California Mosquito and Vector Control Law along with an eight member Board of Trustees. The trustees are local residents appointed by city councils and the board of supervisors of Stanislaus County. The District is publically funded and has monthly board meetings that are open to the public.
The District provides year around service which includes prompt response to service requests, on-site inspections and mosquito control work as necessary. Mosquito fish are available at the District office.
